David Wilson has a track record of experience and achievement in global procurement management, finance, project leadership, and organizational transformation. His extensive background includes senior finance and strategic procurement positions at Mattel, Inc. and Diageo plc in the US and the UK.

David’s global responsibilities have embraced Europe, Africa, and Asia. He has developed a reputation for “hitting the ground running”, undertaking many challenges as a transformational leader – both driving change and taking a business to the next level of success – across diverse environments.

Prior to launching Stirling Consulting Group, David served as Vice President, Global Procurement for Mattel, Inc., where he led the strategic sourcing of $1.5 billion globally of indirect goods and services. He successfully increased exposure and credibility of the Global Procurement organization worldwide, and led continuous improvement efforts to maximize quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness.

During his tenure at Diageo as Vice President, Shared Services, David led the first initiative to leverage procurement synergies in a non-product related spend across Diageo’s $10 billion North American business, reducing annual costs by $11 million.

From 2001 to 2005, David served as a senior business services consultant, applying strong relationship building skills, the ability to understand client needs, and devise business solutions for a number of clients on shared services, acquisition due diligence, corporate finance support, and business outsourcing.

Between 1988 and 2000, David rapidly progressed through increasingly responsible leadership roles in Diageo and Guinness plc, Diageo’s predecessor organization, across diverse business environments – domestically and internationally, and through multiple change initiatives.

David’s strategic approach to transforming and optimizing business processes is reflected in his numerous Finance roles in which he successfully navigated through change, maintained a robust financial control environment, and championed a plan to transition the organization from a conventional to a shared services structure.

In his earlier career experience, David held several finance roles at SBK Entertainment World, Inc in New York, CBS in New York and London, and a Chartered Accountancy practice in London, gaining a fundamental skill set in public accounting, internal auditing, and disciplined finance processes and procedures.

David’s exceptional track record of business transformation globally is based on his innate ability to “walk into” diverse and complex business environments and drill down to specific solutions.

David received his MBA from Rutgers University, is a UK Chartered Accountant, and holds a Certification in Managing Organizational Change.
